The Girl Next Door

I almost forgot that I should post this in the blog too.

The Girl Next Door - Dedicated to IsolatedPurity

This image was actually taken directly from the first page of the comic – the only one I’ve done so far, which means it’ll take a while to do, especially because I’m going to have a busy week.
It was supposed to be Isolatedpurity’s birthday comic, but it will be late. However, the quality will be awesome, I promise.

Removal of parasite – SUCCESSFUL

I had to remove a tooth today – one of the so-called “wisdom teeth“. I do not agree with the name – since these goddamned tumor started growing I have had my lowest school grade ever, made a bizarre choice of clothing (hint: it involved mixed shoes), and my English actually seemed to deteriorate. Interestingly, it usually starts growing around the age of 20; in my case, they both showed up in the minimal age of 16. I’m so special.
The thing really didn’t want to leave. I’ve had teeth extractions before, but they were usually quick, painless and with no consequences. It’s been hours since I removed it and I still feel the pain; besides, not even the five anesthesiac shots I took helped relieve the pain of the moment itself. And it was huge - two weeks ago it painfully popped up, and now it was enormous. Kids sure grow fast.

To distract myself from the ongoing pain, I decided to read the Penny Arcade archives – at a certain point (relax, I wasn’t crazy enough to read them all from the very beginning) they mention a certain website known as White Ninja, and call it “genius”. I decided to take a look.
Newest comic? Oh, the irony. “Wierd” indeed.

I apologize for this odd and unusual post – but I just couldn’t resist to post the ironical White Ninja comic. Believe me, I do not wish to ever visit that website again. Who knows what fate might have planned.
Thanks for sharing my pain.

One Week Later

Oh my. My last post was over a week ago. Metroid Prime 3 does consume a lot of my free time. :D

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I’m still doing comics. And show you a hot woman in a sexy pose, I guess.
Enjoy.

HappyDevil Forums are back!

Happydevil put the forums up again! It’s time to register! ;)

We’re talking about one of the best comic team here, and one of the funniest comic makers, so you know you have to. :)

I am inspired and imaginative today

Besides getting the idea for two fabulous blog posts – one concerning cake -, which I (probably) will write later, I got a fantastic subject and three great jokes for a regular comic series – regular as in weekly or something similar.

Besides, these new Orange Box-in-Garry’s Mod pictures inspire me even more.
Perhaps you will see a Mythos’ “The <insert color here> Box” by the end of the year?

Sam & Max is Fabulous

If you check my Steam ID right now, you’ll see that I have played Sam & Max: Episode Four “3.8 hours”. And let me tell you, those were straight. And I didn’t stop because I was tired of it, on the contrary. I might have played the full game by now if I didn’t want to talk to a friend (one has to give his social life some attention every now and then).

Sam, the dog detective, and Max, the rabbit-thingy psychopath

Just recently, I got addicted to the Orange Box; it has an incredible quality, and I didn’t expect to get so addicted so something else so soon.
I knew that Sam & Max was good, so I had to download it once I noticed the fourth episode was now free. But I never expected something as good.

I’ve played a pair or so of point-and-click adventures and enjoyed them, but never really got into it. However, Sam & Max keeps it simple while at the same time still making you think every now and then; and since you don’t spend half an hour in the same puzzle and there’s plenty of things to explore, it never truly gets boring.
But the gameplay wasn’t what addicted me; that was the humor.

This game will surely make you rethink the current democratic system.

Portal was extremely funny, I’ll give you that – but it was a more subtle humor throughout the game, until you reach the truly hilarious last testchamber.
Sam & Max, on the other hand, is hilarious from the very beginning, and keeps it throughout the entire game. Not only are all the characters extremely charismatic (from Bosco the paranoid shopkeeper to Hugh Bliss and his happy demeanor), but the humor is a constant. It doesn’t rely on cheap tricks that only make you smile, as I usually find a lot these days; it truly made me laugh out loud a lot. The scene with the federal dance will remain in my memory for a long time, especially because I just have to rewatch it.

Honestly, there’s not much I can say. I’ve not finished the game yet, but it truly is addictive. It’s interesting and compelling without being frustrating, and its humor is top-notch. I wish I could write such humorous stories.
If you still haven’t downloaded it, you should. You have to, otherwise you won’t know what you’re missing. Sam & Max Season One (and eventually Two) has joined my to-buy list. :)

Hand-drawn?

I’ve been thinking about trying to do a hand-drawn comic – but not some random, Penny Arcade-style thing.
A Team Fortress 2 hand-drawn comic.

It might actually work well – and since I don’t have Garry’s Mod 10 and the update doesn’t seem to be anytime soon, it would allow me to do a TF2 comic without TF2 content.
I think I can do it – I just need to remember some stuff and train a bit.

Two-hit wonder?

I’m kinda disappointed.

It’s an Odd Job! has 594 views – almost 600, but far from What if the Combine Administrator was a Feminist? and Not Another Mingebag Comic.
Yes, I am aware I released that during the post-nuke, but…

The Gear Up Mythos thread has 471 views, while Ellevus’ sign-ups, which was released around the same time, has over 700 view. And they were released around the same time.

Growingdelirium said,

ok, you’re going into the shock stage. you start out big and everyone notices you, but now you’re settling in with the rest of the people and it’s freaking you out. if you were a two hit wonder you’d have 40 views on GUM instead of 470

Hmm, is that right…?

Ah well, I’ll just have to wait to see the reactions to my next comic. But maybe it has to do with the humor style. I need to go back to the “witty” style, fast.

Damn it…

I had a large fabulous post about Episode Two, and half just vanished. Like that; I saved it in draft and posted, and the draft just saved half while the post never came to be.

Ah well… I’ll have to rewrite it. Tomorrow.

Man,  WordPress really was ridiculous now. All I did during the last forty-five minutes was write that post, and I was extremely satisfied with the end result. Then it just vanishes and I can’t recover it.

This sucks. I even lost the great images.

Three months of PHWOnline

To be honest, it feels like it’s been a year.

And so much happened… the ‘nuke’, old members coming back, people starting to get motivated to change PHW.
I even got lots of MSN contacts! Though it’s chilled up now, and I only speak to a few, which is kinda sad… :(

Ah well, it’s been fun so far. I gotta start working on more comics. :P I may even get two projects started, and as of now two are going well in preproduction

More news to come. ;)

PS: I’m having some trouble posting… it seems WordPress somehow confuses “eapmythos”, which I’ve just deleted, with “mythosblog”. Odd…

PPS: Just one thing… It’s an Odd Job! got 572, only around half the views of What if the Combine Administrator was a feminist? and Not Another Mingebag Comic… it makes me feel like a simple two-hit wonder…
