[HOAX] Gametrailers’ Mistake Is My Blessing

So, Gametrailers just spoiled Super Smash Bros. Brawl’s full cast of characters, and I noticed.
Here it is:

Gametrailers... thanks.

Yep. I dunno if it was intentional or Gametrailers just screwed up, but it’s online. I feel almost kinda bad for looking at it, as one of Meele’s best attributes was to find a secret character, so I’ll just leave the file and make a few mentions.
First, from my glimpse everyone seems to be returning, including Ness and Game & Watch. That nemesis of Captain Falcon, Black Shadow or whatever, is there too. Ganondorf is back with a facelift, as expected, and as I suspected, Cel-Shaded Link replaces Young Link. There are a couple of surprises there too, but I dare not think much of them. Hopefully I’ll forget in time of the game’s release.

Enjoy. Or not. But you’ll enjoy the game, that’s for sure.

EDIT: Screw this, let’s analyze the new cast.
From left to right, we have…

- Bowser Jr.: This one was confirmed by Sakurai on the radio a long time ago, and it was true. Since he wears the mask he used to turn into Shadow Mario in Sunshine, I guess he’ll have the ability to either turn into Mario, or actually transform into one of his opponents, which would be cool. He will probably be a middleweight character, possibly with some movements similar to Bowser.
- Midna: Now that’s an unexpected one. It seems to be Midna in-between Link and Ganondorf, which could mean Wolf Link, or just Midna’s magical abilities. Either way, it should be awesome. If it’s Midna alone, then she’ll probably be a lightweight, magic-focused character.
- Wind Waker Link: A given. If Sakurai didn’t put this Link, the game would be incomplete. He should be similar to Meele’s Young Link, with the added charisma of the character. Lightweight, definitely.
- King K. Rool: Wait what? I wasn’t expecting this one. Since I never played Donkey Kong Country (whaaat…), I don’t know much of his abilities, but he’s certainly a heavyweight.
- Ridley: I was expecting him too from Sakurai’s announcement. Another “gliding” character, probably an agile powerhouse too. Should be awesome to play with him. Gliding mediumweight.
- Dark Samus: Alright, if you ask me, this one should’ve been a color swap. I wonder what kinds of abilities Dark Samus, a.k.a. Metroid Prime, will have. Hopefully you get to transform in Metroid Prime’s gigantic original form, with a Smash Ball or something.
- Lucario: I haven’t followed Pokémon for years, but from what I know, this one appeared in a movie and is a staple of Diamond and Pearl. Probably a mediumweight – and I guess cool to play as. I know Mewtwo, who fortunately is back, was awesome, and I expect the same from this one. (Side-note: Goddamnit, Jigglypuff is back)
- Wolf O’Donnell: HOLY CRAP, THEY CUT FALCO?! I loved Falco… guess we gotta stick with Wolf instead. Probably very similar to Fox, if not a clone. I can imagine his Smash Ball attack being a Wolfen raid. Lightweight similar to Fox.
- Krystal: I kinda expected this one. It’s good to see a new female character in the mix, too. She’ll probably use a combination of magic and Star Fox’s weaponry. Lightweight, kinda like Zelda.
- Ashley: … oh my. Never saw that coming. The WarioWare witch is here, and she’ll definitely use some magic tricks. Fast, but lightweight, if you ask me, and probably bad for combos.
- Two Fire Emblem characters? I honestly don’t know. The other ones were easy to distinguish, but I’ve only played two Fire Emblem games, so I don’t know much of the huge character list.
- Black Shadow: I did get the name right. Heavyweight, very powerful, but slow mover – or a clone of Falcon like Ganondorf was, only slower and more powerful. Either way, should add a certain dark flavor to the cast – and his Smash Ball attack will definitely be Black Bull, which is cool.
- ? I don’t seem to recognize that character. I don’t know if it’s Nintendo’s or not… I can’t distinguish it from the image, it’s too low-quality. Ah well, I guess we’ll find it later.

There you have it, my predictions. The cast of characters is now of epic proportions, and should be fun to get them all.
I need to go play Melee now.

EDIT: I’m wondering right now whether this image is true or not. I did find it in frickin’ Gametrailers, but I’d already noticed that the newer adds to the cast (such as Bowser Jr.) use the artwork from the original games instead of having an actual render. So, maybe this one is fake.
If it is, I’m gonna stop trusting the damn site.

EDIT: Newsflash – it’s fake.

I feel like getting back into comics fo’ real

Was checking the blog’s dashboard and I noticed the views. Fourty-three, which is a big number for my sweet bloggie.

One of the views was actually from Odd Job, which reminded me of something I was thinking some time ago when I was feeling a little unsatisfied. It was a big rant, so I’m gonna cut it short.
Since I’ve joined Phenomena on Break, I unfortunately started taking comics too seriously. Because of a series of events, from PHW’s nuke to the overall lack of comic humor and quality on the boards, I lost my own sense of humor and it became tiresome to do comics.
Some days ago, I checked my own comics list when linking to a friend. I checked Feminist again… and I can’t describe the feelings I had. It was not only nostalgia, but also inspiration. I drew inspiration from my own comic. Paradoxal, eh?
Now, checking back Odd Job, with its simple humor and fun chain of events, I can’t help but feel like picking Garry’s Mod, a couple of skins, and do something fun again. Something that people can enjoy, that I may enjoy doing, and that might help bring life to a dying forum. Because yes, no matter what points you might bring up, I still feel like PHW is dying. At least its humor is, and it’s not even the newbies’ fault.
The comic I’m doing right now is good – at least, that’s my opinion. It’s been on hold during the week (busy busy busy), but I feel like making it and so far it’s been going well. The new update somehow seemed to make posing easier, and while it may be just my impression, it’s a great thing nonetheless. It makes comics easier, and now with the TF2 and Portal stuff, we have more freedom. I’m actually starting to think of Portal stories, which I recently discovered could be told without any actual human character.
And, as usual, I keep getting ideas for series. I’m cooking up some TF2 stuff, as well as some originality – an unconventional homage, to be more precise, but not like my usual satires. Something even more lighthearted and less sarcastic (which reminds me, you need to get a taste of my sarcasm one of these days – I usually focus comics more on situations than dialogue, but I’m actually better with sarcasm than thinking up funny situations).
So, Mythos foresees a productive 2008 – just don’t think too much of Odd Job 2. My (flawled) logic when it comes to series has to be explained someday. :P

By the way, Delirium linked me to one of his precious jewels from the infinite depths of oblivion, and I thought I should share it with you. Plus, the “cyanide and happiness” tag will surely get me some free views. ;)

Even on MSPaint, you still rock.

Heath Ledger is dead

Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight

Actor Heath Ledger has been found dead in a Manhattan apartment, New York police tell CNN. There is very little information available, so stay tuned.

According to TMZ.com, Ledger, 28, was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 pm ET Tuesday.

The actor has a two-year-old daughter with former fiancee Michelle Williams. Ledger was set to play the Joker in the upcoming Batman film “The Dark Knight.” He received an Academy Award nomination for his work in “Brokeback Mountain.”

He killed himself, apparently… he was a talented actor, and he portrays one of my favorite characters ever in the upcoming Summer blockbuster…
Well, I guess all a person can say is… rest in peace, Heath…

Is it wrong that I find this mildly amusing?

I mean this.

The new guy, “Fury :3″, not only completely missed the stickied “Hi, I’m New!”/”Hi, I’m Back!” thread on the very top of the section, but he also keeps making double posts, clearly forbidden according to the fourth rule on the Rules thread, not to count the typical “Internet grammar”. One thing is to use a lot of smileys and abbreviations on an instant messenger, another is to use them on a message board. Unfortunately, a lot of people fail to distinguish both.

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the guy. I even complimented his Male_07 skin. But why oh why are there so many stereotypical “n00bs”?
I mean, everyone starts somewhere. I also got into the net somehow – but when I did so, around 12-years-old, I didn’t go all like “lolz im new wasup”. I used correct grammar, I tried to participate well and I particularly enjoyed interesting debates, some of which I started myself. And I was twelve. I didn’t even use “lol”.
But apparently, everyone else starts or started as a kid going through puberty and posting uninteresting 4chan images or random videos, or in the worst case making their own “funny” comics, while using incorrect grammar or too many abbreviatures.

I don’t have anything against “Fury :3″ – hell, he’s welcome as far as it concerns me. I don’t even consider those errors his fault.
It’s just that I don’t get it. Most new guys just fit perfectly into the stereotype – even those who supposedly have visited PHW for months. Not all are like that – if you want an example, I can point you to Nanosheep, a great guy who started off well and modestly on PHW -, but the great majority is. Even currently great members of PHW were at some point.
In February 2nd, it’ll be six months since I joined PHW and posted “What if the Combine Administrator was a Feminist”. As far as I know, no one considers me a newbie anymore. I may not have released comics since October, but I’ve been around a lot – I’ve got close to 800 posts, which is odd if you consider that many recognizable ‘06ers have a lot less. I guess I just visit the forums way too much.
Newbies are and will always be welcome on my account, even if they make those mistakes. It’s alright, everyone starts somewhere.
But why do so few start on the right foot?

Well, that’s all.
I’ll post something actually interesting one of these days. Just let this week be over.

Goddamnit

This morning was a complete waste of time. During the second class at school, I had the dumbest discussion with a complete idiot who thinks he understands how people act. He tried to prove that I was “dumb”, unsuccessfully (his best argument was that I “look dumb”, but a) I don’t, and b) what kind of fucked up argument is that!?); in return, I gave him enough evidence for him to regret having been born.

The thing is, I usually take a lot of notes during classes of ideas I get – I get a lot, so I like to write them down, just in case I forget them. Some days ago, I bought three little handy notebooks for around €15, and took one today. I used it to take some notes on a comic series I’ve been planning for more than a fucking year, and I forgot the damn thing in the room.
The problem is, the guy went back in for some reason – I just hope he didn’t to steal the fucking thing. There’s no valid information for him there, and it’s not like he’s gonna spoil it online, but that thing costed me money, of which I don’t have much, and his annoying habit of getting into people’s lives is starting to become really tiresome.

Goddamn, a dumbass managed to put me in a bad mood. I hate when this happens.

First TF2 Pose

Fear not! After all, we’re not talking about some newbie here – it’s me, folks, you can trust me. Though, don’t expect anything special, it was just an experiment.

See, the update has finally been released, and one of the first things I did was pose the Heavy. Surprisingly, it seems to be as easy or even easier than Garry’s Mod 9… and I had fun posing, not only TF2 characters, but HL2 characters as well. I haven’t had fun posing since… heck, maybe never.

Anyway, here’s my first TF2 pose… nothing special, and the text was just added because I felt it was missing.
Now, on to TF2 comics! :D

The Red team Heavy is a... communist? HOLY OVERUSED IDEA, BATMAN!

New Page Up – “Video List”!

I have a YouTube account, and I’ve made two videos on my free time using Windows Movie Maker – just some experiments.

Anyway, I plan on doing more eventually and hopefully getting better with each, so I made a page for it. ;)
Hope you enjoy them!

EDIT: The page has now been deleted. Among various reasons, one was the lack of content. Check my YouTube account if you really want to see the old Video List, since it’s pretty much the same.

Hey, you! Yes, you!

Hello there, comic reader/generic visitor/personal friend!

Have you ever thought “Damn, I wish I had Mythos’ skin” during a regular Sunday walk, right before you distractedly crossed the street and barely got run over by a drunk hysterical woman driving a worn-out 1974 Ford Pinto in need of serious cleaning as it hasn’t been used since 1999, but now she has to since her husband has left her for the Brazilian blonde with whom he has been cheating her for the past five years of their marriage and took the Mustang they bought six weeks after their honeymoon after a lucky night in Vegas, which was complemented by a night of wild sex with four complete strangers, one of which was a transexual that eventually got kicked out of the party and killed himself in that same night, after arriving home and finding his faithful Golden Labrador “Ms. Harry” dead from food poisoning contracted from an one-month old rotten pizza he had forgotten to take out to the trash early that same month?

Well, even if not, you now can have your own personal Mythos, to pose and humiliate in Garry’s Mod – for free! Yes, that’s right, it’s free of any charge!

Just follow this link and click that shiny “Download” button to get the .zip file! Then, just place the folders within (excluding the ReadMe) in the Garry’s Mod folder, and you’re done!
Unless you use 9, of course, for which you will need a spawncode. Since you probably know how to place spawncodes, I’ll just give it to you and you’ll either do your magic or ask on some forum “plz halp how i put spancoed”.

Have fun! ;)

Resident Evil: Degeneration Trailer Online

It’s for real, folks!

In case you don’t know anything about it (and I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t), it’s the first completely-CGI feature film by Capcom and Sony Pictures, set in the Resident Evil universe. Oh, but don’t get scared off yet if you hate the RE movie series, for this is a canonical entry on the game series, not related at all with Paul W. S. Anderson!

I think I’ll examine this trailer closely later and post the analysis here – but not tonight. Tomorrow my school starts off, and I need to get some rest. But expect all the intel I can get on it soon! ;)

I’m already in 2008!

Haha, envy me, you who aren’t yet!

Well, to be honest, it already seems better so far. This was a crap year, with my grandfather’s death and family problems, but now I’ve got stuff to look forward to, and that’s great. :) Besides, I’ll be 17 in three months, i.e., I’m getting close to adulthood. This is the time to start preparing the future.

The rest of my life starts tonight.
