You’ve probably heard of LOST: Via Domus – the videogame spin-off of our good old series Lost. The newest trailer had some hidden messages, one of which had appeared in other trailer, and I went as far as screencap them. I’m going to analyze them here, as well as show them to all you Lost fanatics like me. ![]()
Sorry, but I had to use Photobucket and it resized the images – so they’re not as big as they should be.
This one is the least interesting, but it’s still noteworthy to point. For a second, the DHARMA Swan logo flashes, right before a transition – which I guess means this scenario is part of some DHARMA Station, presumably the Hydra (even though I doubt we’ll get to see the Hydra in the game… maybe it’s the Orchid?). What I find curious is that we see the Swan logo instead of the usual DHARMA logo… this can’t be the secret Swan room, can it? The producers have been talking about it… but it can’t be. A shark hidden within the Swan?
I’d better not start talking about it.
This one’s more interesting, but pretty much obvious. In Season 2 we saw Walt (who had been captured by the Others) and Michael communicate over the Swan’s computer – and since we know the character from the game will be in charge of the button for some time, we can pretty much predict that we receive these messages during our stay on the Swan, from the Others.
Why are they interested in the character? Ben Linus, in the trailer, mentions that they think “[the character] might be the one”. What that means, and how the fans will react when they all find out this new “Paulo” (in case you don’t know – which you should if you’re reading this post -, Paulo and Nikki were two characters introduced in Season 3 as part of the castaways – but the fans hated them, as they showed up from nowhere and were soon inserted in the main cast with no good explanation) is considered so important by the Others, we’ll find out with time.
And now, onto the big revelation:
This one, taken after I download the WMV version and managed to easily stop the video (goddamned QuickTime), is simply fabulous. The show creators had hinted that Kelvin and Radzinsky had been working on two maps, seen under different spectrums (and obviously under different circumstances), and the trailer lets us see it. Click on the image to see an higher-resolution version.
From what I can gather, it points to the presumed location of the Orchid (which is apparently the Crossed-Out Station), places the DHARMA Barracks right next to the Arrow (which doesn’t make much sense to me…), and has written in large letters “QUID EST VERITUS?”, which I believe means “What is true?” or “What is the truth?” (from associations between Portuguese’s “verdade” – truth – and “veritus”). The rest I can’t really understand.
Well, here it is. Since my blog isn’t really famous, I doubt major Lost fans will stumble onto this and allow me to share my findings, but at least Delirium can see it. ![]()

“Quid est veritus” should mean: “what was he afraid of?”
“veritus est” comes from “vereor,” a verb for “be afraid of,” “fear”
it cannot be “what is true”, cause true is “verus” and truth is “veritas”.

[...] In perfetto stile Lost, questo trailer nasconde però delle immagini piuttosto interessanti, scovate dal blogger Mythos… [...]

Remember back in Season 2 when the raft had blown up and they were in the water? A shark swam by and we saw the logo on it. Thus meaning that this shark is most likely THAT same shark or on of the same type. I thought when I first saw it that it’d be like a robot or something that was monitoring them.
So maybe we’ll find something out about that?

We have found a lot about the shark. The Hydra Station, revealed in Season 3, was a containment facility for the animal experiments of the DHARMA Initiative, from the polar bears to the sharks, and even dolphins.
It may be that the shark of Season 2 (“Ezra Sharkington”) is that same shark in the image, but we’ll only find out in the game.
