Just an update on MIA

Well hey. Sorry for not updating during the whole week – busy with real life. A lot of work and lack of sleep, and a great compensation this past Saturday. :D

MIA is… hm, pretty much quiet. Not that it’s dead, on the contrary, but as I’ve said, I’ve been busy, so I neither posed nor edited anything these last days. Sorry, you’ll have to wait a while longer. I didn’t update the “ORIENTATION” page either, but I’ll do that soon enough – you’ll get more tidbits of info, that’s for sure.

So, yeah, not much work on the production department. The preproduction’s, however, is growing strong – and you shouldn’t underestimate that one. There’s one project I’ve been working for some time that I just love, but it’s slightly complicated.

You see, most comic makers do it simply. Get idea, write scripts, make things up as you go, and voilá. If it doesn’t work, cancel it. But I like backstories, side-plots, character connections, that sort of stuff – there’s a reason why I like Lost, and it’s not Evangeline Lily.
The issue with making such big projects is that everything must be planned to the minimum detail. Many people would get bored and give up, but this is the kind of stuff I really love – writing, trying to figure out how to connect stuff, and only when I got it all decided I start the comics themselves. But it’s like putting a puzzle together, you know, and I’ve never been very good with that. It’s true that I can shape the pieces so that they fit, but that doesn’t make it less complicated.
Even so, I’m definitely enjoying planning this, even if it does get frustrating at times. And I think that, when the first issues start being released to the public, you’ll like it too. It’s got a complex story that escalates with a good rhythm and it’s a good character piece, with familiar faces in different circunstances.

And that’s all you’ll get from me today. See you later!
